Freight quote comparison
Put two quotes on the same footing. See the charges behind each total.
Enter total shipment charges in one currency, with up to two decimal places. This tool does not convert currencies. Blank means unknown. Enter 0 for a confirmed zero, an amount included elsewhere, or a charge explicitly outside the agreed comparison scope. Explain included or excluded charges in the notes.
The calculation, in plain sight.
Difference = higher total − lower total
Difference % = difference ÷ higher total × 100
Amounts are added in hundredths of the selected currency to avoid floating-point addition errors. Changing the currency changes the label only. Convert any foreign-currency charges yourself using an agreed exchange rate before entering them.
Make it a like-for-like comparison
Use the same shipment weight and volume, origin and destination, Incoterm and delivery scope. Check quote validity, transit time, free time, exclusions, and whether surcharges are fixed or variable. Record anything unresolved in each quote’s notes.
Enter each charge once: if an all-in freight amount includes an origin charge, enter 0 for origin and explain it in the notes. A lower entered total does not assess reliability or transit time. Unknown costs and differing scope can change the decision.
