Air chargeable weight
Compare your shipment’s gross weight with its volumetric weight.
6,000 is a common air freight divisor; express services may use 5,000. Enter the divisor agreed with your carrier.
Use the outer packed dimensions, including pallets when applicable. All rows use the selected unit; changing units converts your entries.
The formula, in plain sight.
Chargeable kg = max(total gross kg, total volumetric kg)
Dimensions are converted to centimeters before calculation. Gross weight is the actual weight of the entire shipment, including all packaging. Quantities multiply volume; do not multiply the total gross weight again.
A quick example
10 cartons of 60 × 40 × 50 cm occupy 1.200 m³. With a divisor of 6,000, volumetric weight is 200 kg. If total gross weight is 120 kg, the estimated chargeable weight is 200 kg.
Confirm the billing convention
This calculator compares totals at shipment level. Per-piece comparison, rounding dimensions or weights, minimum charges and oversize rules can change a carrier’s bill. Confirm these terms before quoting.
